Itinerary

Greenland Expedition Onboard the ULTRAMARINE


Day 1: Arrive in Reykjavik

Arrive in Iceland’s capital and transfer to your included hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city at your leisure.


Day 2: Fly to Nuuk

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your charter flight to Nuuk, Greenland’s picturesque capital. Upon arrival, board your expedition ship.


Day 3-5: The Westlands

Follow in the footsteps of the Greenlandic Norse as you sail south along Greenland’s west coast. Discover the lush valleys, fjords, and remote sheep farms that make up this Arctic paradise.

  • Visit the Kujataa UNESCO World Heritage Site and explore Viking history at Brattahlíð, Erik the Red’s estate.

  • Experience the Greenland Ice Sheet by helicopter, walking on the second-largest body of ice in the world.

  • Hike, paddle, and cruise through breathtaking landscapes while engaging with local communities.


Day 6-8: Arctic Patagonia

Journey through the dramatic fjords of Cape Farewell, Greenland’s southernmost region.

  • Sail through Prins Christian Sund, one of the world’s most scenic fjords.

  • Visit Aappilattoq, a small hunting village, and connect with locals through music, food, and cultural traditions.

  • Explore Tasermiut Fjord, known as “Arctic Patagonia,” where guests can opt for overnight camping with local hosts.


Day 9-11: The Wild East & Return to Nuuk

Venture into the wild, uninhabited fjords of Greenland’s east coast, where towering glaciers and steep mountains dominate the landscape.

  • Explore Kangerlussuatsiaq Fjord, once home to paleo-Inuit hunters.

  • Keep an eye out for humpback whales and polar bears drifting on sea ice.

  • Enjoy heli-landings, hiking, Zodiac cruises, and paddle excursions in remote ice-filled waters.


Day 12: Nuuk & Flight to Reykjavik

Disembark and explore Nuuk’s historic Old Town.

  • Visit the Hans Egede Church, the Greenland National Museum, and see 500-year-old mummies.

  • Transfer to the airport for your charter flight back to Reykjavik.


Day 13: Depart Reykjavik

After a restful night at your included hotel, transfer to Keflavik International Airport or continue exploring Reykjavik at your leisure.
